Bradford — After a brief illness, Laura (McNamara) Brown passed into the hands of Our Lord on August 18.
She was born in Bradford (Haverhill), Mass., on December 12, 1925, to Lawrence I. and Laura (Lennox) McNamara.
After graduating from St. Mary's H.S., Rutherford, N.J., and earning a Bachelor's Degree from Marywood College, Scranton, Pa., in 1948, Laura began a more than thirty year career as a dietitian at the Polyclinic Hospital in Manhattan and St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, N.J. She lived for many years in Rutherford, N.J., and was active in the American Legion Auxiliary and was past President of Post 139 Lyndhurst, N.J., before returning to Haverhill in 1997.
Laura was predeceased by her loving husband, John Brown and five siblings.
She will be missed and remembered by her sister, Joan Vehrkens of Garfield, N.J.; brother, John M. McNamara and his wife, Uta, of Vancouver, BC; ten nephews; one niece and many friends and relatives.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, August 28, at 11 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, N.J.
