Elinor E Giampa, 92

HAVERHILL — Elinor E. (Burke) Giampa died following a brief illness. She was born in Haverhill daughter of John Joseph and Catherine (Murphy) Burke. She was the widow of the late Louis J. Giampa who died in 1988. She was a graduate of St. James High School, Class of 1936. She was last employed at the former Haverhill Gas Co. where she had the honor of being the first female clerk hired by that concern due to the induction of men being into the military at the begining of World War II. She retired in 1976. She participated in the Wood School Neighborhood Reunion Association; Sisters of St. Joseph, Hale Hospital Foundation; Catholic Daughters of America Court Sacred Hearts. She also taught Christian Doctrine at Sacred Hearts. She is survived by a son Joseph "Joey" Giampa and his wife Joanne (DeSimone) Giampa of Haverhill and a daughter and her husband Katherine and John Webber of Barrington, RI. Four gradchildren, Adria Durkin and her husband Richard ;Anthony Giampa and his wife Jennifer; Amy E Webber; and Jason Webber and his wife Melissa. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A special nephew Frank Pallaria of Atkinson, NH. She was predecased by 2 brothers Edmund J. Burke and John J. Burke; 3 sisters Mary B. Doherty;Sister Dorothy Burke, CSJ; Kathryn M Burke. The faimly would like to extend a special thank you to the Pentucket Ward of Hannah Duston Healthcare Center.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9 am from the PAUL C. ROGERS FAMILY-SCATAMACCHIA Funeral Home 334 Main St. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. James Church at 10 am Burial will be in St. James Cemetery.
