Haverhill — Nicholas Valoras, 90, formerly of Haverhill passed away on November 18, 2012 in Riverside, Calif.
He was born in Boston on October 4, 1922, son of the late James and Mary Valoras. Nicholas attended Bates College in Maine and received a master’s degree from UCLA. He was an Army veteran of World War II attaining rank of sergeant. Nicholas retired from the University of California in Riverside and enjoyed hiking, camping and nature. Nicholas was a member of St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church and the American Legion in Riverside, and was a former member of the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill.
He is survived by his sister, Olga Valoras and his brother, Deno Valoras both of Riverside, Calif., as well as nieces, Michelle Nicolosi and Danielle Valoras and a nephew, Dean Valoras.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 5 at noon at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St. Haverhill. Burial followed in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. Visitation preceded the service on Wednesday at the Church. Arrangements were by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford.
