East Meadow, Long Island, New York — Rudolph Michael Barboni, 82, of East Meadow, Long Island, New York, died on December 6, 2012 in Wantagh, New York after a long illness. He was buried beside his wife, Bertha (Usuriello) Barboni, who died in 2001.
He was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1946. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served honorably as a radioman aboard the U.S.S. Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. during the Korean War. After service to his country, he moved to New York where he raised his family.
He leaves his son, Dr. Michael Barboni and a daughter, Carol Barboni. He also leaves his brother Joseph Barbone of Amesbury, Massachusetts and two sisters, Mrs. Mary DeCristofaro Malegieri of Bradford, and Rose Marie Fortuna Drohan of Haverhill. He also leaves his friend and companion of many years, Mrs. Anna Peterson of Wantagh, New York. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Jean (Howard) Barbone.
His survivors also include Michael and Kim DeCristofaro of Haverhill, Joseph and Kathy Barbone of Bradford, Scott Barbone of Derry, New Hampshire, Benjamin Marc Drohan of Haverhill, and Christofer and Nicole Drohan of Sandown, New Hampshire. Also Elizabeth and Alan Liguori of Chelmsford and Robyn and Robert Curry of Haverhill.
In addition, he was the great uncle of Alyson Liguori of Chelmsford, Jessica and Michael Barbone of Bradford, Cameron and Mason Barbone of Derry, New Hampshire, and Alexis Drohan of Sandown, New Hampshire.
His ordeal is over. He has been called home. May he now sleep in heavenly peace.
