Dixmont, Maine — Douglas Boyd, age 69, of Dixmont, Maine, former resident of Haverhill, passed away at home Thursday afternoon, January 10, 2013 with his devoted wife and daughter at his side.
He was born in Newburyport, March 17, 1943, son of the late Laura (Nelson) Boyd and Albert A. Boyd. He attended elementary school through high school in Georgetown, and received a Bachelor of Science degree from New Hampshire College. Douglas was stationed at Takhli Air Force Base in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
Douglas retired from Georgetown Police Department after many years of dedicated public service. He was an avid outdoorsman spending his free time hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Fae Boyd; his daughter, Patricia Glastetter of Nashua, N.H.; grandsons, Matthew Glastetter and Damon Glastetter, both of Nashua, N.H.; a granddaughter, Rachel Glastetter of Nashua, N.H.; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Glastetter of Nashua, N.H. He was predeceased by his sister, Meredith Welch of Newburyport.
