  • Margaret (Masera) Giolito, 95

    Haverhill, MA — Margaret (Masera) Giolito, beloved wife of the late John Giolito passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 5 , 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital with her son Vincent by her side. She was born in Haverhill the daughter of Emilio and Frances Masera. Margaret attended Haverhill Public schools, and worked in the shoe industry for several years before becoming a full time homemaker. Margaret enjoyed many hobbies and activities including camping, gardening, reading, cooking, baking, and sewing. Her true joy came from being with her family and friends. Margaret's loving heart and warm smile, and caring, and nurturing ways will never be forgotten by her family and friends. Margaret's three children inlcuded the late Patricia (Giolito) Bales of Andover, and the late Carl Giolito of Haverhill. She is survived by her son Vincent of Haverhill. A daughter in law Linda (Loffredo) Giolito of Pembroke; A son in law David Bales of Andover; 2 Grandaughters Jennifer Bales and her companion Ernest Antoniotti of Margate, FL; Kerry (Giolito) Cronin and her husband Brendan of Hanover, MA; A grandson John Giolito and his wife Jennifer of Saugus; Great grandchildren Anthony and Emma Giolito; and twins Matthew and Connor Cronin; She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also sister of the late John "Rocky" Masera. "Although our hearts are heavy and our eyes are filled with tears, you have blessed and enriched our lives for so long as only a true angel can. I'm so fortunate and filled with pride to call you My Mom".

In addition to his mother, Ed is survived by his three brothers; Jeffrey L. Putnam of Hampton Beach, N.H., Dale G. Putnam and his wife, Gale of Newton, N.H.; and Philippe W. Putnam of Haverhill. He is also survived by two nephews and two nieces.

Her survivors include her children, Anne Marie McNamara of Haverhill, Kevin and his wife, Kathy McNamara of West Newbury, Brian and his wife, Peggy McNamara of Exeter, N.H., Kathleen McNamara of Stratham, N.H., Maureen and her husband, Hank Offinger of New York City, Elizabeth McNamara of Hampton, N.H., Brendan McNamara of Hampton, N.H., Karen McNamara of Hampton, N.H., Shawn and his wife, Kearstin McNamara of North Hampton, N.H., Allison McNamara of New York City; a sister, Timmy and her husband, Bob Nolan of Center Sandwich, N.H., ten grandchildren, three nieces and three nephews.

  • Silvio Angelotti, 87

    HAVERHILL, MA — Silvio J. Angelotti, 87 died Thursday January 31, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House. He was born in Haverhill November 22, 1925 son of Pasquale and Rosina (Scatamacchia) Angelotti. He was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. He proudly served under the command of Gen. George Patton during the Battle of the Bulge during his term of service in the 3rd Armored Division, serving from January 1944 until June 1946. "Sil" was best known throughout the community for his outstanding work in design and craftsmanship within the building industry. He loved those "little" projects for family and friends as he used to call it. Along with those accomplishments, he proceeded to design and build Pilgrim Lanes, where he spent the last 40 years. You could see him there under the guidance of his family up until the past few weeks. He was no stranger to charity or charity work. He donated not only his money he donated his talents within the Haverhill community on many occaisions. "Sil" enjoyed all kinds of sports, and could often be seen playing softball, hockey, or other outdoor activities with his sons. He was a member of the Victor Emmanual Lodge Order of the Sons of Italy, the AMVETS, and the Mass. Builders Association. He formerly owned and operated Homes by Silvio. He is survived by his daughter and her husband Diana and Chris Garvey of Charlotte, NC.; son Dale Angelotti and his wife Maria of Haverhill; and son Gary Angelotti of Haverhill. 3 sisters Emma Tringali of Methuen; Mary Coolidge and Gina Bordieri both of Haverhill; Grandchildren Richard Angelotti and his wife Brianna of Methuen; Jennifer Angelotti of Rochester, NH; and Sean Garvey and D.J. Garvey of Charlotte, NC, and Henry and Tyler Kuk of Haverhill. His former wife Vivian Murphy, of FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Theresa Yannalfo, Lucy Danielson, Cecelia McAleer, and Maurice Angelotti.

She was the wife of the late Rocco “Rocky” Rampulla who died 1998 and Walter Stranger who died in 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Joanne K. McClaflin of Seminole, Fla.; her sister, Gertrude Cardarelli of Haverhill; grandchildren, Faith and her husband, Thomas Murray of Ocean Pines, Md., Jeffrey McClaflin and his wife, Tina of Summit Point, W.Va.; great-grandchildren, Thomas Murray, Sarah and Eric McClaflin; sister-in-law, Ellen Rowinski of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; as well as, several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late, Mary and her husband, Walter Sharis, Ann and her husband, Stanley Lusko, Frank Rowinski and Joseph and his wife, Shirley Rowinski.
