THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

TAKE A GUESS!

Can you identify the top photo? Write your guess and any comments on a post card and mail it to Thanks for the Memories, Haverhill Gazette, Post Office Box 991, Haverhill MA 01831; send it by e-mail to HGReporter@HGazette.com; Or simply drop it off at the office at 181 Merrimack St.

Last week's photo of a section of GAR Park drew many correct responses. People were able to recognize the Hannah Duston statue, the old high school annex and other things in the area.

Correct answers came from Robert Takesian, Gerry Danforth, Judine Raymond, Barbara Cote, Joanne Rurak, Isabelle Takesian Sargent, Laura Edwards, Dan Beauvais, Lloyd Smith, Bill Boisselle, Joe Metelski, Harold Harriman, Jerry Davicki, Marty Collins, Betty Ratte, Jay Cashman and Marion Cronin. (Marion noted it was where Winter Street used to be, and the Hannah statue was a "dead giveaway." She also said "All the trees! How nice!")

Omitted from last week's list of correct answers to the White's Corner photo were Larry and Karen Dudley.

If you have any pictures that might be of interest, send them to Barney Gallagher at the above address. The photos must be clear and usually not from previous newspaper editions. One good one of the Casey Paper semi-pro baseball team of 1936 was sent in by Jack Hayes, whose father was on the team, but it was not of good enough quality to reproduce.
