Thanks for the Memories: Can you identify this picture?

Last week's memory

Write your guess on a postcard and mail to Thanks for the Memories, Haverhill Gazette, P.O. Box 991, Haverhill, MA 01831; e-mail to hgreporter@hgazette.com; or bring it to our office at 181 Merrimack St.

Last week's photo was of the Old Kerry bottling plant on Broadway, where owner Michael O'Dea was shown bottling one of the brands of soft drinks produced there, including Moxie and Frostie Root Beer. The plant, near Crystal Lake, now deals in Crystal Springs water. Correct responses came from Jerry Davichik, Jim Murphy, K. Cash, Christine Perrin, Dwayne Vosburgh and Dan and Mary Chapman. The Chapmans' e-mail note came from Azie, Texas, where they settled after Dan retired from the Air Force after 30 years. He wrote about fond memories of Haverhill, where he grew up in the 1950s, and he deplored the loss of the Haverhill Paperboard plant, where his father worked.

If you have any photos that might be of interest or awaken memories, send them to Barney Gallagher at the above address.

This week's photo came from the book "The Irish in Haverhill, Massachusetts" by Patricia Trainor O'Malley.
