Thanks for the Memories: What banner social event took place in this sunroom?

This sunroom was the site of an important social event in is day. Do you know what it was, and where this home was located?

If you know, send your answer to Thanks for the Memories in care of The Haverhill Gazette, PO Box 991, Haverhill, MA 01832; e-mail to editor@hgazette.com; drop it at our office at 181 Merrimack St. or comment online at hgazette.com.

There were a few stragglers who had correct answers on the old City Hall photo of two weeks ago, but whose responses did not arrive in time. They were Dianne Ottaviani, Miilton Taylor, Isabelle Takesian Sargent, Dan Sargent and Joseph Macbride.

Last week's photo featured a building not as well-known. No one was able to identify the home on the corner of Woodland and Haverhill streets built in 1830 for Steven Barker and known as the Barker Cottage.
