The Haverhill High boys and girls indoor track teams placed fourth and sixth respectively at the 2012 Merrimack Valley Conference Championship at the Reggie Lewis Center on Friday. Mike McNaughton (1000-meter run) and Patrick Garvey (high jump) each won individual titles at the event. Several Hillie girls took second place, including Jackie Solimine (1000-meter run), Bridget Twomey (1-mile run), Riley Gilmore (2-mile run), and the 4x800 relay team. The boys and girls teams will participate in the MIAA State Championship on Sunday in Boston.

The boys swimming team had a strong showing at the MIAA Division 1 North Sectional Championship on Sunday. Seven Hillies advanced to the MIAA State Championship to be held Friday night at Harvard. Connor Cronin (500-yard free style), Maxwell Koffman (200-yard free style, 100-yard free style), and Nicholas Roy (200-yard individual medley, 500-yard free style) each qualified in individual events. George Bonner, Sean Driscoll, Tyler Hanides and Panupak Kraiwong will compete on two relays teams.

The Hillie girls basketball team pulled out a 46-43 win at Dracut on Friday night to improve to 14-6. They close out the regular season at home on Thursday night when they host Mt. Alvernia and then will prepare for the MIAA playoffs. The boys' basketball team will close out the year on Friday night when they host Methuen at 7 p.m.

The hockey team finishes up the 2011-2012 season at the Newburyport Tournament next week. The squad dropped a 3-0 decision to Lincoln Sudbury on Saturday.

Another Hillie football player will go on to play at the next level. Ryan Filliger has committed to play at Worcester State in the fall.

Three top professional comedians will perform and there is a long list of raffle and silent and live auction items. All proceeds will benefit the Haverhill High Athletic Program.
