Gina Paulhus, 30, of Haverhill traveled to Geneva, Ohio, to compete in the AAU Ladies Division National Championships.
Paulhus competed in the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise events. She won first place, becoming the ladies' national champion on the floor exercise. She took third-place in the vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and the all around competition.
"This was my first national title," Gina said. "I was happy to just be at nationals, and to win the gold was a dream come true."
Gina has been a gymnast for 17 years. She trains at Atlantic Gymnastics in Portsmouth, and is coached by Allison Brisson, Cori Cunningham and Matthew Yellis.
