---- — Floor hockey and basketball continued to provide excitement at the Boys & Girls Club, at both the major and minor league levels.

Here are details:

JV League Floor Hockey, Game 7

Sparky’s Wings & Things crushed JNR Gutters 9-2.

Daniel Howell scored three goals for Sparky’s, with one in each period. John McCarthy scored two goals in the second period for Sparky’s. John Tompkins Jr. and Dylan Fontaine scored one goal each for JNR Gutters.

Align Credit Union remained undefeated with a huge 12-3 victory over the 99 Restaurant & Pub.

Almost every player on the Align team scored a goal in the victory. Emma Laviolette, Braden Dorr, Ian Miller, Jared Libby and Abdiel Torre scored two goals each for Align. Jacob Ruperto scored all three goals for the 99 Restaurant, which suffered its seventh consecutive loss.

Major League Floor Hockey, Game 7

Twomey & Legare Contracting beat American Resource Staffing 6-1.

Neither team scored in the first period because of great defense at both ends. In the second period, things changed for Twomey & Legare when Aiden Acevedo, Xavier Lopez, Evan Foskett and Nathan Libby scored one goal each. Franklin Libby scored two goals in the second period for Twomey & Legare. Jasmine Tuell scored the lone goal for American Resource Staffing.

Malcolm Insurance continued its undefeated record with a 5-1 victory over Pistone Containers.

Abdiel Torre started the game with two goals and Jayden Arias scored one goal for Malcolm Insurance in the first period. Yonga Zagarella scored a goal for Pistone Containers in the second period, but Bryan Carter scored a goal shortly after for Malcolm Insurance. Jason McKeon scored the final goal for Malcolm Insurance in the third period to secure the win.

Dempsey Insurance triumphed over Messinger Chiropractic 3-1.

Ryan Wentworth scored all three goals for Dempsey Insurance. Messinger Chiropractic failed to score a goal in the first and second periods due to Shelby Eason’s great goaltending. Gabriel Griffine scored the lone goal for Messinger Chiropractic in the third period with 37.2 seconds left.

Major League Basketball, Game 8

Early Contractors overwhelmed Lucky’s Pizza 53-38.

Joshua Santacruz scored a game-high 21 points for Early Contractors. Jake Freitas stepped up defensively with five steals and scored a season-high 12 points in the showdown. Nazair Dabreo scored a team-high 20 points for Lucky’s Pizza. Early Contractors remained the first-place team with only one loss in the season so far. Lucky’s Pizza remained in last place.

GL Enterprises beat JDR’s Auto/Welding 47-37.

Cole Smith scored a game-high 16 points for GL Enterprises. Jordan Gilliurmo improved with 13 points for GL Enterprises and played great defense. Samuel Powell scored a team-high 12 points for JDR’s Auto/Welding.

Minor League Floor Hockey, Game 8

Blase Distefano topped Align Credit Union 3-1.

Calvin Pruett scored all three goals for Blase Distefano. Brian Donovan continued to show great goaltending for Blase Distefano. William Acosta scored the only goal for Align Credit Union in the second period. Align Credit Union remained in last place.

Arty’s Roast Beef continued its undefeated record with a 5-3 win over Fantini Bakery.

Neondre Abrue scored two goals in the first period to give Fantini Bakery a 2-0 lead. Ryan Wentworth cut the lead in the second period when he scored a goal for Arty’s. Braden Lynch scored a goal at the start of the third period for Fantini Bakery for a 3-1 lead. Things quickly changed when Jayden Arias scored a goal for Arty’s Roast Beef to cut the lead to 3-2. With less than a minute left, Julius Urbeaz scored two goals and Ryan Wentworth scored one goal for Arty’s for the win.

Rice & Brouillard Electric beat Restaurant Restoration Service 3-2 in sudden death overtime.

Tyler Rice scored the first goal for Rice & Brouillard Electric in the first period. Both teams failed to score in the second period, but early in the third period, Tyler Rice scored a goal that gave Rice & Brouillard a 2-0 lead. Near the end of the third period, Damian Fry and William Holleran scored a goal each for Restaurant Restoration to tie the game. Then 30 seconds into overtime, Tyler Rice scored the game winner for Rice & Brouillard.

Minor League Basketball, Game 9

Jacqueline’s Grocery Store topped Shoe City Hardware 35-26.

Woodrow Reese attacked the basket and scored a game-high 12 points for Jacqueline’s. Sebastian Camacho had eight points for Jacqueline’s. Ricky Flores scored a team-high seven points for Shoe City.

VIP Cuts trampled Early Contractors 36-17. Nazair Dabreo scored a game-high 16 points for VIP Cuts and showed great ball movement. Evan Carlisle had sharp, clean passes in the paint and scored 10 points for VIP Cuts. Joshua Gariepy improved and scored a team-high 12 points for Early Contractors.

Mediterranean Pizza played hard in a 29-18 win over Half Staff. Phillip Cunningham scored a game-high nine points for Mediterranean Pizza. Giovanni Perez and Brian Morales improved with six points each for Mediterranean Pizza. McKayla Dingle and Enrique Alvarado both scored seven points for Half Staff.
