---- — The competition has been fierce this winter at the Boys & Girls Club.

From the basketball court to the floor hockey rink, players are leading their teams to victories and heart-breaking losses.

Here are the latest results:

Major League Floor Hockey, Game 6

Malcolm Insurance squeaked by Twomey & Legare Contracting 4-3.

Jason McKeon came out strong in the first period with two goals for Malcolm Insurance. Shortly after, Xavier Lopez and Evan Foskett of Twomey & Legare each scored a goal to tie the game 2-2.

Leo Lopez scored a goal in the second period to give Malcolm Insurance a 3-2 lead. With 1:06 left on the clock, Evan Foskett scored a goal for Twomey & Legare to tie the game in the second period. Both teams failed to score in the third period, which sent the game into a sudden-death overtime period. Leo Lopez scored the game-winning goal 15 seconds into the period.

Dempsey Insurance overwhelmed American Resource Staffing 6-0.

Tyler Rice and Enrique Alvarado each scored a goal in the first period for Dempsey Insurance. In the second period, Ryan Wentworth and Enrique Alvarado each scored goals for Dempsey Insurance. By the end of the period the score was 4-0. In the third period, Ryan Wentworth scored his second goal and Enrique Alvarado scored his third goal of the game to secure the victory for Dempsey Insurance.

Pistone Containers beat Messinger Chiropractic 6-2.

Jadiel Gomez scored two goals for Messinger Chiropractic in the first period.

Micheal Gaston and Woodrow Reese scored a goal each for Pistone Containers to tie the game 2-2 by the end of the period. At the end of the second period, Jade Banks and Yonga Zagarella each scored a goal for a 4-2 lead for Pistone Containers. McKalya Dingle and Yonga Zagarella each scored a goal in the third period to secure the win for Pistone Containers.

Major League Basketball, Game 7

GL Enterprises crushed Lucky’s Pizza 45-20.

Cole Smith played a strong game and scored 14 points in the battle. Sebastian Batista scored 10 points for GL Enterprises. Nazair Dabreo scored a team-high 8 points for Lucky’s Pizza. GL Enterprises walk away with its second consecutive win, and Lucky’s Pizza suffered its third consecutive loss.

JDR’s Auto/Welding put an end to Early Contractors’ winning streak with a 60-51 victory.

Samuel Powell scored a team-high 22 points in the showdown. John McCarthy had 14 points for JDR’s Auto/Welding. Joshua Santacruz scored a game-high 28 points and Tyresse Gutierrez scored a season-high 18 points for Early Contractors.

Minor League Floor Hockey, Game 6

Blase Distefano triumphed over Fantini Bakery 3-1.

Kenny Owens and Calvin Pruett started the first period with a goal each for Blase Distefano, which had a 2-0 lead by the end of the period. Pruett scored another goal in the second period for Blase Distefano, while Fantini Bakery failed to get a goal in the first and second period. Fantini Bakery trailed by three goals at the beginning of the third period until Neondre Abrue hit the one and only goal for Fantini Bakery.

Arty’s Roast Beef took a 3-2 victory over Rice & Brouillard Electric.

Jadiel Gomez got a goal in the first period for Arty’s, but 10 seconds later Tyler Rice tied the score 1-1 for Rice & Brouillard. Jayden Arias scored back-to-back goals in the second period to give Arty’s Roast Beef a 3-1 lead by the end of the period. Tyler Rice scored his second goal of the game for Rice & Brouillard in the third period with 22.3 seconds left, but there wasn’t enough time left for a comeback.

Align Credit Union put an end to its losing streak with a 3-2 victory over Restaurant Restoration Service.

William Acosta had two big goals in the first period for Align Credit Union. William Holleran scored a goal for Restaurant Restoration, which trailed 2-1 at the end of the period. Restaurant Restoration failed to score a goal in the second period, while William Acosta scored one more goal for Align. Thomas Goodwin scored a goal for Restaurant Restoration Service with 19 seconds left on the clock for a final score of 3-2.

Minor League Basketball, Game 7

Jaqueline’s Grocery Store topped VIP Cuts 34-26.

Yonga Zagarella scored a team-high 13 points for Jaqueline’s, while Sebastian Batista had 10 points. Nazair Dabreo scored a game-high 14 points for VIP Cuts.

Half Staff edged out Shoe City Hardware 44-42 in overtime.

Enrique Alvarado scored a team-high 15 points, followed by McKayla Dingle’s 11 points for Half Staff. Jason McKeon scored 20 points in the showdown for Shoe City Hardware. Half Staff earned its second consecutive win.

Mediterranean Pizza took its seventh straight win by taking out Early Contractors 37-27.

Phillip Cunningham scored a game-high 16 points for Mediterranean Pizza. Edward Perez scored a team 12 points for Early Contractors. Early suffered its seventh consecutive loss.
