The Haverhill Gazette
---- — They are the pride of Bradford, especially in swimming circles.
The Bradford Swim Club made a big splash at the annual Summer Aquatic League Championships held at Cedardale Health and Fitness Club.
The competition also included teams from Haverhill Country Club, Russell Mill Club, and the Andover/North Andover YMCA.
For the past several years, Bradford Swim Club and Cedardale have taken turns winning the title. This year was no different. The Bradford club came out ahead by a small margin of 17 points to take the title.
Coach Becky Driscoll led the Bradfrord club’s diving team to victory. She got a great performance from Michaela Sliney and Joe Giampa. Coaches Anna Carbone and Jessica Doe trained the youngest swimmers (ages 6 and under) to a strong showing at their competition. Head coach Meghan Kennedy, her staff members and their swimmers held off the larger Cedardale team.
This is the Bradford Swim Club’s 48th year in operation.
