Early Contractors showed great defense in beating High Street Market, which had to play without Mitch Rudis, who averages 25 points a game. Stephon Allen, Hassan Cathey and Brandon Suero all showed hustle in their full-court press defense for Early Contractors, and by the end of the first half High Street Market trailed by 22 points. Stephon Allen and Hassan Cathey both scored 17 points for Early Contractors, securing the 53-44 win.
T-Stop Barbershop showed strong teamwork in an overtime win against Tony’s Pizza. Evan Curtios scored a season-high 24 points for T-Stop Barbershop, and showed great rebounding ability. Gage Alicea, who averages 28 points for Tony’s Pizza, fouled out in the second half and had to sit for the overtime period. Navin Cruz scored 15 points for T-Stop Barbershop, and demonstrated good ball control for the win. The final score was 62-55.
T-Stop Barbershop looked like a different team without its point guard Navin Cruz to control the tempo of the game. Giomar Sanchez scored a season-high 20 points for LJ Construction. Evan Curtios scored 22 points for T-Stop Barbershop, but it wasn’t enough for the victory. Elias Sanchez and Hector Vasquez each scored 14 points to secure the win for LJ Construction. The final score was 63-57.
Early Contractors triumphed over Tony’s Pizza, which suffered its seventh consecutive loss. Kenny Plante, who averages 11 points a game, scored a season-high 30 points for Early Contractors. Hassan Cathey played a big role, scoring 24 points to secure the win. Gage Alicea scored 33 points for Tony’s Pizza, but it wasn’t enough to end the losing streak. Early Contractors won 79-67.
Loyalty Barbershop swept High Street Market for the win. Loyalty Barbershop was missing its 6-foot, 6-inch center Eduardo Gonzalez, to block the floaters in the paint, but still managed to win. Kyle Trask picked up the slack, scoring 22 points for Loyalty Barbershop. Scott Tavares put on a show with six three-pointers for Loyalty Barbershop, and scored a total of 26 points. High Street Market suffered its second consecutive loss. The final score was 74-65.
