Boys volleyball off to great start

One of the strongest teams at Haverhill High School over the past several years, the boys volleyball team, is off to another great start.

The Hillies opened the season with a 3-0 win over Somerville, then downed Methuen 3-0 in their first league match. Haverhill has an important match with Lawrence on Friday night at home.

Girl lacrosse defeats Shawsheen Tech

The girls lacrosse team grabbed its first win of the season last Thursday, defeating Shawsheen Tech 18-7 to improve to 1-1.

The Hillies will travel to Lowell on Monday night.

The boys team fell in its first two games of the year, losing to Chelmsford and Tewksbury. The Hillie boys will host Lowell on Friday afternoon at the high school.

Boys tennis beats Central Catholic; girls beat Lawrence

The boys tennis team grabbed a big win over Central Catholic on Friday afternoon.

The Hillies defeated the Red Raiders 4-1. The girls team also won on Friday by a score of 4-1 over Lawrence. Both teams will be in action on Friday afternoon. The boys will be at home (Winnekenni Park courts) against Billerica, and the girls will travel to Andover.

Hillie ball players stumble in openers

The baseball team opened with a pair of losses at Barnstable on Saturday afternoon.

The Hillies fell 7-1 and 12-1 in the opening-day doubleheader. They will be at home on Friday afternoon to host Tewksbury.

Softball team takes to the road

The softball team is on the road on Friday, travelling to Lawrence and Monday travelling to Dracut. They return home on Tuesday afternoon to host Pentucket.

Boys/girls track teams to host dual meet

The boys and girls track teams will host their first dual meet of the season on Wednesday against Andover.
