Turnovers plagued the Knights in the blowout loss to Gateway Community College of New Haven, CT. Northern Essex tried to be aggressive by playing a 2-3 zone and clogging up the lane. The plan backfired as Gateway hit 13 3-pointers in the game, compared to only five by Northern Essex.

"The game was close the whole first half," Nofi said. "But they had a big run at the end of the half."

The Knights cut the deficit to eight in the opening minutes of the second half until a big run by Gateway put the Knights away for good. With the loss, NECC fell to five wins and nine losses on the season.
