Scoreboard: Games played Sept. 10-15
Football
Haverhill was dominant in its season opener on the road against Malden, winning 12-0. The Hillies struggled in the first half, but quality efforts by Markis Santiago (six tackles, a sack and a quarterback pressure), Danny Triplett (three tackles) and Alex Aguirre (four tackles) kept Malden to just 59 yards of total offense. Senior captain Isiah Ocasio had 10 carries for 106 yards and scored one of Haverhill's touchdowns. Noel Figuereo had 18 carries for 124 yards. Triplett carried the ball into the end zone for Haverhill's other score.
