Hillie Huddle

The Haverhill High cheerleaders had another strong performance over the weekend. Haverhill placed second in the MSSAA North Regional Competition at Andover High School on Sunday. With a score of 152.75, the Hillies finished behind only Billerica and advanced to the state finals for the first time in more than 10 years. The MSSAA State Finals will be held on March 11 at noon at Lowell High School.

With a jump of 6 feet, 2 inches at the MIAA All-State Meet, Patrick Garvey qualified for Nationals in the high jump. The Hillie senior will look to break a school record this weekend when he travels to New York City. Garvey will compete in the Indoor Nationals at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York City.

Join us for a night of laughs as the fourth annual Haverhill High School Comedy Night Friday at DiBurro's function hall. Three top professional comedians will perform and there is a big list of raffle, silent and live auction items. All proceeds will benefit the Haverhill High athletic program. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased at Haverhill High. More information on tickets or sponsorship opportunities is available from Tom O'Brien at (978) 374-5732 or tobrien@haverhill-ps.org.

There will be a spring sports pre-season meeting on March 13 at 6 p.m. in the Haverhill High School auditorium. All student-athletes interested in playing a spring sport should attend with a parent or guardian. Head coaches will address each team separately to review tryout schedules, team rules and other topics. Forms and user fee payments are due no later than March 13 and can be submitted at this meeting. All forms can be picked up at the high school or downloaded under the athletics tab at www.hillies.org.
