Haverhill athletes results, Week 1, Bay State Summer Games

Here are Haverhill athletes' results after the first week of competition in the Bay State Games.

July 8

Girls soccer

Northeast 3, Central 2 — Haverhill's Molly Fitzgerald picked up a goal in the victory for Northeast. Her goal was assisted by Saugus's Kristen Verrette, who added a goal and another assist in the win.

July 9

Wrestling

12-year-old Haverhill resident and Consentino middle school student Darius Franklin took home fourth place in the 107 pound weight class.

14-year-old Chris Eyssi tied for second place in the 114 to 122 pound class.

July 10

Girls soccer

Northeast 3, Coastal 0 — Game's first 36 minutes. Zero goals. 37th minute, another goal for Haverhill's own Molly Fitzgerald, who scored her second goal of the tournament in giving Northeast the lead for good. Her teammates added two insurance goals for the victory.

Wrestling:

Haverhill high school's Terrance Jean-Jacques took home the gold in the 285 pound weight class.

individual participants

12-year-old Bradford resident Michaela Sliney, who is also a member of the Haverhill YMCA Gym Stars, participated in the 1-meter dives.

Haverhill's Kimberly Lucia, a student at UMass-Lowell, participated in the womens open epee.

13-year-old Ashley Richard participated in the 200 meter freestyle race.

16-year-old Johnathan Jones participated in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter backstroke and 200 meter backstroke.

Haverhill high school students Parris and Isaiah Williams participated in wrestling

15-year-old Haverhill resident Corey Jean-Jacques participated in wrestling.
