This may be a vacation week for kids in the city, but for those who attend the YMCA, class is still in session.
Organized swim lessons (with over 300 kids a session) and basketball were introduced over 100 years ago at the Y and continue there today.
Parents are looking for new ways to have their children be involved in physical activities, and the Y provides that place.
New challenges such as rock climbing build both character as well as physical skills, while teen open court time provides a safe haven for teens after school.
Classes are offered seven days a week, and no family is turned away due to inability to pay.
The Haverhill YMCA’s annual Campaign raises funds to turn no one away. More information is available from Tracy Fuller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
