City's youth basketball roundup

Here is are scores from Haverhill Youth Basketball:

Haverhill's Brown fifth-grade travel team beat St. Monica's sixth-grade team 39-21. Charlie McCarthy scored 10 points and Cole Smith and Jared Libby played strong defense in the win.

Haverhill's Gold fifth-grade travel team beat Methuen 69-35 for its 12th win of the season. Dallion Johnson and Kyle Rocker led all scorers and Matt Duchemin and Daejon Pendleton dished out numerous assists. Justin Snow had a strong game rebounding.

The Haverhill B seventh-grade team dropped a tough 34-32 decision to Our Lady of Good Counsel School of Lawrence.

Nathan Gaff led all scorers with 15 points, and also had a strong game rebounding. Jeremy DeRoche and Troy Sliney had strong defensive efforts for Haverhill.

Missing three starters, the Haverhill sixth-grade travel team fell at home to Billerica, 40-21. Johnny Vets picked up the slack and led the team in scoring with nine points. Nathan Shellene pulled down 10 rebounds while Eddie Tynan had eight points and a strong defensive game.
