Athletics physicals offered
The Haverhill High School athletic department will administer physical examinations to student athletes who plan to participate in athletic programs during the 2010-2011 academic year.
The cost is $20, and the exam will be held at the high school on Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. Preregistration began on July 1, and the pre-registration fee of $10 can be sent to Andy Berube, Haverhill High School, 137 Monument St., Haverhill, MA 01830.
Those who pre-registered will be given priority in the order of the exams given.
Rowing club accepts signups
Essex Rowing Club is continuing its registration for the fall season for its middle school, high school and adult programs. Introductory sessions are available for those with limited experience.

Swim club tryouts planned
The New Wave Swim Club is holding short course tryouts on Tuesday, Sept. 7, through Friday, Sept. 10, at the Lowell High School pool from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Cheerleading program accepts members
Sign ups are ongoing for the Pentucket Youth Cheerleading program for students entering grades five through eight. Practices, games and competitions are held in August and run through November. A permission form, a fee of $125 and a copy of the student's birth certificate are required for participation.
