Girls volleyball team going strong

The girls volleyball team has had a great first half to the season.

The defending Merrimack Valley Conference champions have won three of their last four matches to improve to 6-2 on the year. The squad will host Lowell on Friday evening in the Haverhill High School main gym at 6:30 p.m.

Hillie football team faces Methuen this weekend

Trailing 12-10 at the half, the football team shut down Lawrence in the second half and came away with a big 26-12 victory.

With the win, the Hillies improved to 2-1 overall and they are 1-0 in MVC play. The win sets up a big game at unbeaten Methuen (4-0) this weekend.

Girls swim team prepares to face Chelmsford

The girls swim team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday afternoon, dropping a 101-85 decision to Andover.

Cali Aramian has had an incredible season thus far, winning all 12 of the individual events she has participated in, including all four events against Andover. The Hillies are 4-1 heading into meets with Chelmsford and North Andover this week.

Boys/girls soccer enters second half of season

The boys soccer team scored a pair of second-half goals to defeat MVC rival Central Catholic 2-0 last Thursday night.

The Hillies head into the second half of the season with a 3-6-1 mark. The girls soccer team had its fourth 0-0 tie of the year last Tuesday. The Hillies are hoping to defend their MVC title and are in a good position with a 4-1-4 mark.

Riley Gilmore continued her impressive cross country season over the weekend at the Frank Kelley Invitational in Wrentham.

The senior placed third out of 176 runners from across the state, leading the Hillie girls to an 11th place finish overall. Christian White was the top finisher on the boys side, placing 30th in the field of 223 runners.

Hillie golfers to face Central Catholic and Lowell

The Hillie golf team split a pair of matches last week and has reached the midway point in the season with a 4-3 record.

The team travels to Atkinson Country Club to face Central Catholic on Thursday afternoon the return to their home course Bradford Country Club to host Lowell on Friday.

Field hockey team drops two, looks to bounce back

The field hockey team dropped a pair of games last week to North Andover and Central Catholic. The Hillies will look to get back in the win column next week with games against Tewksbury, Lawrence and Concord-Carlisle.
