A walk down memory lane

Have you ever stumbled across an old long-cord phone and then stumbled back in time?

Maybe you’ve discovered an old-fashioned toaster in the back of a closet and suddenly remembered the breakfasts your mom made when you were a child.

An old floor-model black-and-white TV can bring back memories of shows your family watched together decades ago.

Those kinds of items are shown off by an organization called Historic New England. Its uses the items in a program called “Remembering Home” which uses a teaching collection of 20th century objects and images to evoke memories of the way people lived decades ago.

The organization visited the Citizens Center recently to show off old items and hear about the memories they evoked in residents who attended the event.
