More than 200 people gathered at DiBurro's on Wednesday, March 11, for Chamberpalooza to network with other businesses and professionals from around the region.
In attendance were members of the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce, the Lowell Chamber of Commerce and the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce.
With budget constraints everywhere, the goal of the event was to create a network among the four chambers.
"This evening was an opportunity to talk about respective businesses, meet new people and hopefully lead to an enhanced business atmosphere throughout the region," Greater Haverhill Chamber President Jim Jajuga said.
Other presidents agree.
"This is really about the small business owner or businessperson in the area. Chamber egos are put aside for the night to benefit all the chambers in this current economy. You need to expand your chamber at times like these," said Donna Morris, executive director of the Greater Salem Chamber.
"This is a great opportunity to make many business contacts. We are working together for the greater good of all businesses in the area," said Jeanne Osborn, president of the Lowell Chamber.
"By doing this, it gives everyone a great opportunity to expand their business contacts which is important, especially with how our economy is today. We've had a great turnout," said Joseph Bevilacqua, president of the Merrimack Valley Chamber.
Attendees chatted over drinks and appetizers, and received the opportunity to win one of four baskets prepared by each chamber, which were filled with items such as cookies, popcorn, cheese, crackers, coffee and coffee mugs, wines and even two tickets to the April 30 performance of Lord of the Dance at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Many enjoyed the event and found new friends and business acquaintances.
"This is a really great opportunity to network with different chambers. It's so important to get your name out there especially with this economy," said Danielle Bergeron of the Lowell Chamber and Impact Promotions.
"The fact that there are four chambers here and I service the whole area makes this a wonderful opportunity for me to help expand my business," said Ann Marie Murray-Milot of the Merrimack Valley Chamber and ABC Cleaning Services.
Members and leaders of the four chambers said they hope Chamberpalooza grows into an annual event.
