A Precision Operation: Hospital employees compete for trophy, bragging rights

Hospital employees compete for trophy, bragging rights

In celebration of Hospital Week, Merrimack Valley Hospital held its first Merrimack Valley Hospital Challenge as teams from several hospital departments competed in several events for a first-place trophy and bragging rights.

Creative teams names were the Arrhythmics, the Wicked Westies, the Band-Aids, Team Bears, The Hot Poppers, Lunch Bunch Munchers, Mobility Queens and Beach Bums.

Teams were recruited from departments all over the hospital, including facilities, nutrition, the nursing floors 4-East and 4-West, Intensive Care and physical therapy,

Each team took their turn battling it out in a bed pan race, three-legged race, bed-making competition, cake decorating and games of "Operation" and "Hospital Jeopardy."

The 4-East nurses — their faces decorated with Band-Aids to go along with their team name — took home the first-place trophy and will hold the title until the next competition.

Organizers said they plan to make the Hospital Challenge an annual event.
