The place was packed.
The annual KidsFEST event moved from downtown to Kimball Farm this year, and Sunday’s event was a success.
An estimated 6,000 to 8,000 people showed up at the farm to enjoy activities such as pony rides, a petting zoo, an obstacle course — and of course, carnival food.
Police watching over the event said they had never seen so many people at a KidsFEST.
Organizers from the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce said they moved the event from the top level of the Merrimack Street parking deck to the farm to give children and their families a rural setting and a change of pace.
