Columnist Kat Maguder answers questions about relationships, family and friendship.
Dear Kat: My grandparents always embarrass me at swim meets by wearing Speedos and bikinis. What should I do?
Answer: My advice to you is get them a gift card to Target and make sure they buy a responsible and appropriate bathing suit that won't embarrass you. Or you could buy them bathing suits yourself.
Dear Kat: What does a girl do when she has a crush at another school and he does not like her?
Answer: My advice to you is make sure you gave him a little hint that you like him. Also, show him who you really are inside and maybe he will start to like you, but if you already did that, just wait and hope for the best. Still, it might not work out.
Dear Kat: My parents won't let me have a Facebook page. What should I do.
Answer: My advice to you is to tell your parents about Facebook and why you want a page. Show them how responsible you are and why you deserve one. You need to be very careful on Facebook when you say, show or talk to anyone. That is probably why your parents won't let you.
Dear Kat: I have no friends. What should I do?
Answer: Well, I was like you once, but there is someone out there who wants to be your friend. When I had no friends, I got to know people. Then in first grade I got a friend and I have had friends ever since. It does not matter how old you are, what grade you are in or if you are different, you can always make friends.
Dear Kat: I have two friends who do not like each other. What should I do? I don't want to upset them.
Answer: I feel really bad for you. It is always hard to have friends who don't like each other. My advice to you is sit them down together and ask them why they don't like each other and help them settle it out. I hope it works out for the three of you.
