There was so much overgrowth around veterans' gravestones at Hilldale Cemetery, you'd hardly know they were there.
Not anymore — thanks to local members of the Knights of Columbus Catholic men's organization.
Members of the Knights Council 202, based at All Saints Church, recently put on their gloves and went to work at the cemetery.
They focused their cleanup on Thistleweed Hill near the rear section of the cemetery.
The result: The gravestones are now visible for relatives of the military veterans who visit their resting places, and for groups who take tours of the cemetery to learn its history.
