Crescent Yacht Club is usually all about boats — packed docks during the summer, boats coming and going from the club as locals enjoy the river.
But recently the club was all about food.
A drive hosted by the club on May 2 and 4 yielded three pickup trucks filled with donated items that were delivered to the Sacred Hearts Church food pantry.
Donors also provided $390 in grocery store gift cards and more than $500 in cash, all of which went to the pantry. It has experienced an unprecedented demand for food during the coronavirus pandemic.
"As always, CYC members heard the need for help and volunteers stepped forward," said club member Luanne Little. "Working together as a team is how things get done."
