Elyse didn't know what to do. Her employer is cutting back so severely that one week, she worked only 11 hours. Money is so tight that she could barely afford to buy a Christmas tree this holiday season for her four children, ages 3, 6, 8 and 10.

Then, when the single mother thought about trying to buy presents to put under the tree, reality sunk in. There is no way she could afford the gifts on her own. She could barely afford the tree.

Without help, her children would have an empty Christmas. Santa Claus wouldn't be coming to Elyse's household if she didn't reach out to her community for assistance.

That's when she thought to call the Gazette Santa Fund. Through the help of Community Action, the Salvation Army, and donations from caring members of the Haverhill community, families in need are able to provide their little ones with gifts and a meal on Christmas.

Every penny that you donate to The Gazette Santa Fund goes to those in need. There isn't much time left and Gazette Santa has many homes to visit this year.

Please give what you can so that Elyse can give her children some happiness on Christmas morning.
