Gazette readers are voting for the best of everything across the community — from the tastiest cup of coffee to the best hamburger to outstanding fitness clubs and hair salons.

The annual “Haverhill’s Best’’ balloting is underway, allowing our readers to vote for the best people, places and things in the city.

Here are the voting categories and a sampling of what they include:

Activities and sports — dance schools, gymnastic schools and golf courses

Appearance — hair salons and tanning salons

Automotive — auto repair and auto dealerships

Local people — service clubs and politicians

Professional services — accountants, banks, dentists, doctors and insurance companies

Food and drink — bakeries, doughnut shops, places with the best meals and drinks, function halls and caterers

Shopping — appliance stores, sales and service, flooring stores, convenience stores, liquor stores and pet groomers

Places — scenic spots and historical sites

Voting for “Haverhill’s Best’’ is easy. If you’re computer savvy, just click a few keys to cast your ballot for who and what are outstanding in Haverhill.

If you’re old fashioned, get out your scissors and cut out the ballot in today’s edition of the Gazette. The ballot will continue to appear in the Gazette during the month of June.

The deadline for voting is July 7.

Later in the year, the Gazette will publish a special section featuring stories about many of the top vote-getters.
