Tots-n-Tykes next Tuesday
Winnekenni Castle will host a Tots-n-Tykes Tuesday July 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. The program's theme is "Teddy Bear Hospital." The cost is $6 per child. Register online at www.winnekenni.com or www.imajinethat.com. Teachers from Little Sprouts & Imajine will guide children through educational and creative workshops designed to stimulate little minds. The activities will change each week and will be based on a specific theme of the week. Some activities will be outside so parents are asked to dress their child appropriately. The program runs Tuesday mornings through Aug. 16.
Hill View enrollment sessions
Hill View Montessori Charter Public School enrollment information sessions are July 13 at 7 p.m. and July 23 at 9:30 a.m. All sessions will be held at the school, located at 75 Foundation Ave. in the Ward Hill Business Park. A public lottery for classroom seats will be held on Aug. 11. Hill View is a public, tuition-free school that offers a public Montessori educational option to the Haverhill community. The school opened in 2004 and currently enrolls 296 students in kindergarten through grade eight. The school offers a Montessori-based education enhanced to ensure alignment with the state's curriculum frameworks. Social and emotional development as well as academic excellence is emphasized in multi-age classrooms where teachers deliver instruction primarily in small groups. The school offers full-day kindergarten, an extended day option and extended child care. Haverhill Farmers Market opens July 16
The Haverhill Farmers Market will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. from July 16 to Oct. 29. This popular outdoor market has a new location in the parking lot next to the Haverhill Police Station on Bailey Boulevard.
The Haverhill Farmers Market will also offer a free lecture at the Haverhill Public Library, 99 Main St., in the Johnson Auditorium Tuesday, July 19, at 7 p.m. The talk is titled "Dairy farming in New England" and is presented by Warren Shaw of Shaw Dairy. Haverhill Youth Soccer
Online registration for the Fall 2011 Haverhill PAL Soccer season at standard fees is open until July 15, 2011. The program is open to children ages 4 to 14. Library announces summer hours
The public library will be closed on Saturdays starting July 9 and until Sept. 3. Staff vacancies prevent the library from staffing the building at appropriate levels, officials said. These vacancies should be filled by September. The library's summer hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library will reopen on Saturdays beginning Sept. 10.
