The Lamplighter parked his car in the Merrimack Street parking garage recently, and when he tried to pay at the kiosk, it asked him to enter his parking space number.
Unfortunately, the yellow space marking was completely faded, as were most of the other space markings. It makes you wonder how many parking tickets have been handed out due to unreadable numbering.
Now for something completely different
If you're in the mood for something different, try Pollo Centro on Winter Street.
Order one of their ham and cheese or chicken turnovers that are only $1.50 each. It's one of the best bargains in town.
Welcome to Garrison Golf
Kudos to Ted and Mary Murphy, owners/operators of Garrison Golf Center on Hilldale Avenue.
They're still going strong, greeting patrons on a daily and nightly basis with a smile. Their hospitality goes above and beyond.
Good job, Elks
A big pat on the back goes to Haverhill Elks Lodge members for raising thousands of dollars for Shawn Cunningham to help pay his medical bills from a recent cancer operation.
Lodge member Rick McPhee recently ran a Three Stooges film festival at the club to raise money for Cunningham.
New traffic lights are being installed at the intersection of Forest Street and Broadway.
The question is, will they cause a backup or will they help with a smoother transition of traffic through that area. Only time will tell.
