After a successful season, 18 gymnasts from the Haverhill YMCA qualified for the 2012 Northeast Regional YMCA Gymnastics Championships, which took place May 4 to 7 at the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls, N.Y.

Haverhill's Level 4 team came in seventh place and its Level 5 team came in eighth. A total of 39 teams participated.

The Haverhill YMCA's Gym Stars gymnastics team, with girls ages 8 to 14, was led by head coach Allison Paradis and Judy Dugar, gymnastics director for the YMCA.

Nevaeh Noury was the Level 4 regional champion in her age division, scoring a 37.05. She also took second on bars, third on vault, third on beam and fifth on floor.

Gianna Skoler was regional champion on beam with a 9.5 and on floor with a 9.2. She also took third place in the all around.

Alison Leavitt was regional champion on beam with a 9.25 and was third in all around.

Alexandra Auguste took second place on bars and third on vault.

Haley Stewart took second place on vault.

The Level 5 team was led by Brooke Caffrey, who was regional champion on vault with a 9.25 and floor with a 9.125. She also placed second in the all around. Hannah Bessette was regional champion on vault with a 9.1 and took third on beam.

Nicole Lunn was regional champion on vault with a 9.225. Ivy Detjens took third on beam.

Cassie Scaglione competed in the Level 6 regional competition, taking seventh place medals on bars and beam.

Jenna Dutton competed in her first Level 7 competition at the age of 9, and placed 12th in all around. She also received a fifth-place medal on vault, a sixth-place medal on beam and a ninth-place medal on floor.
