The Haverhill-Pentucket-North Andover girls hockey team wrapped up its historic regular season, going unbeaten with an 18-0-2 record.
The team pulled out a thrilling 3-2 victory over defending state champions Methuen-Tewksbury last week to claim the MVC-DCL League Championship. The Haverhill-Pentucket-North Andover team is the No. 1 seed in the MIAA Division 1 State Tournament.
Boys basketball team has great season
The boys basketball team had its best regular season in 15 years, finishing with a 14-6 record.
The Hillies finished as co-champions in the Merrimack Valley Conference. They are the No. 9 seed in the MIAA Division 1 North Tournament.
Gymnastics team in state tourney
The gymnastics team has qualified for the MIAA Sectional Tournament for the second straight year.
The Hillies placed sixth in the sectional meet, which was held last weekend at Algonquin Regional High School. The Hillies posted a score of 136.9, a huge improvement from last year. Maren Eramo was selected to represent Team Massachusetts at the 2020 Senior National Showcase in Fort Myers, Florida.
Wrestlers advance to state tournament
Hillie wrestlers had a great showing at the MIAA Division 1 State Tournament.
Jake Nicolosi and Steven Wise placed third, Ben Davoli and Jay Levy were fourth, and Edgar Felicano placed fifth. By finishing in the top six, all five wrestlers have advanced to the MIAA All-State Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Methuen High School.
Girls basketball team makes playoffs
The girls basketball team is going back to the playoffs for a second straight season.
The Hillies won four of their last five MVC games to qualify for the MIAA Division 1 North Tournament and have received the No. 5 seed.
Runners post personal best times
The indoor track seasons wrapped up with several student-athletes posting personal best times at the MIAA All-State Championship held at the Reggie Lewis Center.
Hayden Makarow placed ninth in the 600-meter run, and Finleigh Simonds was 10th in the one-mile run. Simonds teamed with Delani Dorsey, Gabby DeRoche and Ariann LeCours for a 13th place finish in the 4x800-meter relay.
Swimmers shine at state meet
Two Hillies represented Haverhill at the MIAA Division 1 State Championship swim meet on Feb. 16.
Daniel McLaughlin placed third in the 100-yard backstroke and was eighth in the 50-yard freestyle. Casey Connors placed 17th in the 200-yard freestyle.

Spring sports preseason meeting planned
A spring sports pre-season meeting will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 6 p.m. at Haverhill High School for all student-athletes and at least one parent or guardian.
The event will feature information about tryouts, participation requirements, rules and regulations, and other topics. Students should complete spring sports registration prior to the meeting through hillies.org.
