Girls hoops skills, drills

The Haverhill Girls Basketball Association is set to sponsor a drills, skills and scrimmage program for local players in grades three through six beginning on Saturday, Nov. 6.

The eight-week progam will be meet on Saturday mornings at Pentucket Lake School.

String of wins

The Northern Essex Knights volleyball squad last week defeated the Springfield College junior varsity team, and then followed that victory with another statement win: a three-game victory against Holyoke Community College, 28-26, 25-20 and 25-22.

The Knights were led by Whittier graduate Samantha Dietrich, who had 14 kills, eight service digs and seven digs. Haverhill's Katelyn Demers had 27 assists, four aces and four kills.

Youth wrestling begins Nov. 16

The Haverhill youth wrestling program will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Consentino Middle School fro 6 to 8 p.m. Parents interested in working in the boosters club will meet at 6 p.m. in the same location.
