HAVERHILL — Police said they charged a man who has a violent criminal history with various firearms offenses after he allegedly fired a gun near his Pentucket Street apartment. Police said they searched his apartment and found a stolen gun. The man did not have a license to possess a gun or ammunition, police said.


HAVERHILL — Responding to concerns of neighbors who live along Little River, plans for removing the Little River Dam and returning the river to its natural state have been revised to include more public amenities such as fishing and wildlife viewing spots, walking trails, canoe and kayak access points and even a bridge that crosses the river.

HAVERHILL — Poiice said a Bradford man who was swerving on the road and nearly collided head on with several vehicles, including a police vehicle, was later found asleep and slumped behind the wheel of his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway. Police found a beer can in his cup holder and three empties in a cooler.

HAVERHILL — Freezing temperatures over the weekend are being blamed for several burst pipes, including one at Haverhill High School that forced a two-hour delayed opening Tuesday, and one at the Moody preschool which resulted in its being closed on Tuesday.
